Ted Brimeyer, Director of Choirs
    Theodore (Ted) Brimeyer is currently in his sixth year as Vocal Music Director at Urbandale High School. Mr. Brimeyer directs Urbandale Singers and Men's Concert Choir. He also directs Studio, the championship varsity show choir. Choirs under his direction have earned numerous Division I ratings at State Large Group Festival. This winter Urbandale Singers will perform as a featured choir at the 2016 NCACDA Conference in Sioux Falls.
    Mr. Brimeyer completed a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University in 2010. He graduated with distinction from Iowa State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Music Education, minoring in German. He has studied conducting with David Rayl, Jonathan Reed, and James Rodde. His voice teachers include Molly Fillmore and Donald Simonson.
    Cooking, being outdoors, and playing with his son and daughters August, Malley, Saffi, and dog Rufus are among his favorite pastimes. He looks forward to any opportunity to travel with his beautiful wife, Elyse.

    Alice O'Connor grew up on Long Island, New York, receiving both her Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Master of Science in Music Education from the State University of New York at Potsdam, New York.  She has an additional 30 post graduate hours from Drake University in Des Moines.
    Mrs. O'Connor has been teaching vocal music since 1975 and have been teaching in the Urbandale School District since 1990.
    Split between both UMS and UHS, Mrs. O'Connor's teaching assignment at the Middle School includes 7th grade chorus, 8th grade chorus and Pizzazz, the middle school show choir. Her teaching assignment at the High School includes Treble Choir, vocal lessons and facilitating solo and small ensemble contest.

Katie Sullivan, Show Choir Choreography Assistant
A native of Urbandale and alumna of the UHS Vocal Music program, Ms. Sullivan is finishing up her senior year at Iowa State University in Vocal Music Education. She was privileged to sing with the Iowa State Singers for a year and a half and served as the choir’s Treasurer. She is currently serving as Vocal Chair of the Student Representative Council for the Iowa State University Department of Music and Theatre and is an officer for Sigma Alpha Iota, International Women’s Music Fraternity, Sigma Lambda chapter. Ms. Sullivan works as Assistant Show Choir Choreographer to Choreographer, Grant Luther and has worked with Southeast Polk High School and Middle School, Dallas-Center Grimes High School and Middle School, Johnston Middle School, and St. Edmund’s in Fort Dodge. She has had practicum experience at Highland Elementary in Waterloo, Jefferson Elementary in Des Moines, and Gilbert High School. Upon graduation in May, Ms. Sullivan wishes to teach secondary choral music.
Chris Conner, Associate Director of Choirs

Chris Conner grew up in the Kansas City area and has participated in choir and band since middle school.  He received his Bachelor of Music Education from the Kansas State University where he studied voice with Dale Ganz.  He has served as a music substitute in Des Moines and surrounding areas for the past three years before coming to Urbandale.  His duties in Urbandale include Women’s Concert Choir, Vitality, and special education.

In his free time, he enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family.  He also enjoys arranging music for the district’s various music ensembles and singing with his barbershop quartet.

Jeff Temple, Assistant Show Choir Director & Accompanist
    
    Jeff Temple is a lifelong resident of Urbandale and a 1985 graduate of Urbandale High School where he was a 4-year member of Urbandale show choirs. He rejoined the program in 1986 as an accompanist and now works mainly with Urbandale's outstanding back-up bands.




Jenna Connolly, Show Choir Choreography Assistant
    Jenna Connolly graduated from Urbandale High School in 2002, from the University of Iowa in 2006 with a BA degree in Performing Arts Entrepreneurship with an emphasis in dance, and from Drake University in 2012 with a Master's degree in Education. Now in her sixth year with the program, Jenna works with Studio on cleaning the choreography for their shows.
