Ted Brimeyer, Director of Choirs Theodore (Ted) Brimeyer is currently in his ninth year as Vocal Music Director at Urbandale High School. Mr. Brimeyer directs Urbandale Singers and Concert Choir. He also directs Studio, the championship varsity show choir. Choirs under his direction have earned numerous Division I ratings at State Large Group Festival. This winter Urbandale Singers will perform as a featured choir at the 2019 ACDA Conference in Kansas City. The choir has also appeared at the 2017 Iowa Choral Showcase and the 2016 NCACDA Conference in Sioux Falls. Mr. Brimeyer completed a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University in 2010. He graduated from Iowa State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Music Education and German. He has studied conducting with David Rayl, Jonathan Reed, and James Rodde. His voice teachers include Molly Fillmore and Donald Simonson. Cooking, being outdoors, and playing with his son and daughters August, Malley, Saffi, and dog Remy are among his favorite pastimes. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family. He also enjoys arranging music for the district’s various music ensembles and singing with his barbershop quartet. Jeff Temple is a lifelong resident of Urbandale and a 1985 graduate of Urbandale High School where he was a 4-year member of Urbandale show choirs. He rejoined the program in 1986 as an accompanist and now works mainly with Urbandale's outstanding back-up bands. |
